LOCALLY DESIGNED, BUILT & OPERATED
Turtle Mountain Adventure Huts was born out of our love for outdoor adventures with family and friends. We spend countless hours recreating in the Turtle Mountain Provincial Park and are thrilled with this opportunity to get others out enjoying TMPP.
Some of our fondest memories are of hut adventures… from the Rockies in western Canada to the Indian Himalaya, we are excited to bring our version of the hut experience to TMPP.
TMAH wouldn’t have been possibly without the tremendous support of of our families, friends and local community. We can’t wait to see you out on the trails!
HUT DETAILS
SIMPLE DESIGN – MAXIMIZING SPACE
Our huts pack a lot into their small 160 square foot footprint. They feature a modern design, with a wood burning stove, cooking area, eating and sleeping space and storage racks for your gear. They were built approximately 10 minutes away from their current sites at Turtle Mountain Provincial Park.
They were built on skids to allow us to transport them and place them on their sites with minimal impact. Once on site the decks, stairs and timber canopies were added. The interiors are sanded pine plywood and white pine timbers and the exteriors are a mix of corrugated black metal and locally milled poplar siding.
The huts are off-grid and have simple solar lights, there is also no plumbing and dishwashing is done with a simple basin method.
Finch Hut is the first hut you’ll see as you walk in, it’s deck faces south and features some extra canopy space for storing your bikes & skis.
Jay Hut is a little further down the main trail, it can also be reached taking a short cut across the skating pond. Jay’s deck faces west, looking down a small hill with lots of privacy.
